Wagging Tails announce Franchisee of the Year at 2016 Conference.
Dog boarding franchise Wagging Tails recently announced their 2016 Award winners during their Annual Conference held at Bartley Lodge in the New Forest.
Following another record breaking year for the brand which saw bookings across the network rise by over 20% year on year, Swindon Franchisee, Hilary Coates, was announced as the Wagging Tails Franchisee of the Year, with Surrey Franchisee Sue Day collecting the Runner-Up prize. Alexis Bennett, the Gloucestershire Franchisee who only launched her branch in January 2016, picked up the prize for Brand Builder of the Year.
Speaking candidly about her involvement with Wagging Tails and the impact it has had on her life Hilary stated,
“I was going through a divorce and I needed to make myself financially independent and that’s something that is going to happen now which is really pleasing.
It’s given me a new lease of life, I realise now that I can do a lot more than I thought I could.”
Both Sue and Alexis pointed to the lifestyle benefits that the franchise has afforded them with Sue commenting,
“Its been great being part of the Wagging Tails franchise. I’ve been my own boss but not on my own. I’ve had the help of Head Office and the advice and backup I’ve needed every step along the way really. I’ve got the freedom to organise my week and my time as I want to and prioritise and fit in other things, other family commitments into my life. “
While Alexis said,
“I wanted a complete change of lifestyle. I really love being able to work from home being able to work with my puppy Brea and getting the support from Head Office.”
The 2016 Wagging Tails Conference gave franchisees within the network the opportunity to get together, share knowledge and learn from fellow franchisees, discuss and devise solutions for the challenges they face and receive an update from Franchisors Jim and Lisa about the future of the business whilst also hearing from guest speakers, Marketing and Management Consultant Stephen Dann and Nicholas Orpin from Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
Roz Bourne, who operates the Kingston-upon-Thames franchise described the day as,
“Inspiring. The best bit is being with other franchisees and finding out that a lot of the things I encountered, am worried about, we’ve all got it in common and just coming up with some ideas together. It’s good.”
While Sue added that it was,
“Really interesting, really helpful. It was great to meet up with the others. To share experiences with other franchisees and give each other tips is really beneficial”.
Wagging Tails’ Director Jim Suswain summed the day up,
“It was great to catch up with our franchisees and discuss how we are planning to move forward. Stephen’s input was hugely valuable and from the feedback I have received since I know that the ideas shared today were received with huge positivity and confidence for the future.
It was fantastic to be able to welcome our charity partner Hearing Dogs for Deaf People. it is always a pleasure to hear from Nicholas about the incredible work that they do. We look forward to helping to raise more funds and awareness for this wonderful charity over the coming year.”
