Gloucester dog care franchise: One month on…

Just one month since she launched the Wagging Tails Gloucestershire franchise we catch up with franchisee, Alexis Bennett, to see how her dog care franchise is developing.

In this short space of time Alexis has interviewed and inspected the homes of prospective Gloucestershire dog carers (along with her diligent assistant, Beagle Brea!), started to build strong relationships with her local councils, arranged for the licensing and insurance of her first dog carers, received her first calls from owners and arranged her first dog holidays in the Gloucestershire area (with those first owners already having made repeat bookings!).

Discussing her time so far as a franchisee Alexis had this to say,

“My first month with Wagging Tails has been busy, exciting and a bit of a whirlwind! Working from home is something I have looked forward to enormously and starting the day with a brisk walk with Brea, especially on a crisp, frosty morning, is the perfect beginning to a Wagging Tails working day.”

I love spending time with Brea. Taking her to work to meet prospective carers and new doggy friends is a real treat, as well as being an essential guide when deciding upon who makes the perfect carer. After all, if Brea feels comfortable in their home, is greeted with open arms and can roam freely around the house and garden with her nose to the ground, in that Beagle way, I know my prospective carer is likely to become a member of the Wagging Tails GL team!

I have met fantastic carers and owners with varied, interesting lives; some have their own dogs, some have owned many different breeds and there are always stories to share. Having focused my initial carer recruitment in three areas, finding my way around new villages and towns has been another highlight. There is so much to see in Gloucestershire and I have already found new walks for Brea.

Being a Wagging Tails franchisee is certainly a rewarding career move. Now we are truly up and running, I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds. The repeat bookings have been a real boost this week and there are many more boards already in the diary.”
