Not only is Wagging Tails an award winning franchise but our fantastic network of Franchisees are also multiple award winners in their own right, fully illustrating the success of our business model. A Wagging Tails franchise has been designed to be a successful and viable long term business proposition which is illustrated by the fact that 40% of our network have been with us for over 4 years. This includes our very first franchisee, Teresa who joined us in 2010 and continues to run a thriving Wagging Tails franchise.
“Lisa is always available to help and guide me through various situations, and her experience with the business and her knowledge of dogs is invaluable. I have yet to pose a question or concern that she hasn’t been able to fully answer and help with, and I had many in the early weeks! A few short months on and I know that joining Wagging Tails was the best decision I have made in a while.”
Following a successful career as a Financial Advisor, Teresa now owns and runs the Oxfordshire (OX Postcode) and Reading (RG Postcode) Franchises of Wagging Tails. Teresa has been featured in Dogs Monthly, won the EWIF Franchisee of the Year Award in 2013 and has been Wagging Tails Franchisee of the Year on two occasions, most recently in 2015.
“In early 2015 I was working in the corporate world and had been for many years. Then they (my company) decided it would be cheaper to get the work done in India and was made redundant.
I decided this was not a disaster, but an opportunity to do something different. I liked the idea of running my own business, but I’m no Alan Sugar, so the idea of a franchise appealed to me. I looked through many different opportunities. As a dog lover Wagging Tails really stood out for me. It was an established, successful and, importantly, ethical business.
There have been ups and downs, as with any business, but, with guidance and support from our Head Office, as well as from my family, I’ve been able to establish a respected and trusted business, with a team of wonderful, caring, dog lovers.
I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and the service we offer and I can honestly say it’s the best thing I’ve ever done!”
Kevin joined Wagging Tails in the spring 2015 having been offered redundancy by the IT company he worked for who were relocating his department abroad to cut costs. Taking this as an opportunity to take on a career he is truly passionate about Kevin’s hard work has enabled him to build a successful and vibrant business in Hertfordshire alongside his two dogs, Roly and Abbie, with the support of his wife, Doreen.

I love spending time with Brea. Taking her to work to meet prospective Carers and new doggy friends is a real treat. I have met fantastic Carers and owners with varied, interesting lives; some have their own dogs, some have owned many different breeds and there are always stories to share.
Being a Wagging Tails franchisee is certainly a rewarding career move. Now we are truly up and running, I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”
A former Headmistress, Alexis launched the Gloucestershire (GL Postcode) Wagging Tails Franchise in January 2016 following a career in education. In September 2016 she collected the 2016 Brandbuilder Award at Wagging Tails annual Conference in recognition of the hard work she has put in to developing Wagging Tails in the Gloucestershire area.

“It has been a pleasure to work with franchisors who are so passionate about the way their franchise should operate as it encourages me to set high standards for myself, which will only help my business to flourish and grow.
I was going through a divorce and I needed to make myself financially independent and that’s something that is going to happen now which is really pleasing. It’s given me a new lease of life, I realise now that I can do a lot more than I thought I could.”
Hilary launched her Wagging Tails Franchise in Wiltshire in April 2014. Since then she has won New Franchisee of the Year at the 2015 EWIF Awards, was a Finalist at the 2014 Pet Industry Awards, was a Finalist in 3 categories of the 2014 Wiltshire Business Awards and has twice been name Wagging Tails Franchisee of the Year, in 2014 and 2016.
“Having three school aged children my hours very much work round the school day and the pressure of after school events and my family commitments. As my own boss I can manage my diary to work for me. I can monitor calls, emails and texts from my mobile when away from my office and respond to them accordingly. I sometimes will process a booking or talk to an owner in the evenings as many of them will be at work during the day so unable to talk to you about their dogs. Setting up my franchise has allowed me to utilise my professional background in a customer facing industry and apply it to a business that I can work around my family life giving me a great work / life balance. One year on and I can honestly say that running my own business is the best thing I have ever done career wise. I wish I had done it years ago.”
Sarah previously enjoyed a successful career in the City before deciding to relocate to the countryside to raise her family. Sarah was a Wagging Tails Carer for Teresa’s Oxfordshire Franchise before she decided to take the opportunity to buy her own business and launched the Coventry (CV Postcode) Franchise in February 2013 allowing her to earn an income working from home and continue to raise her family. She was a Finalist for the New Franchisee of the Year at the 2014 EWIF Awards.
